Why do I need a Safety Certificate (Roadworthy)?

    A Safety Certificate (Roadworthy) is issued after a vehicle passes a minimum safety standard inspection. A safety certificate covers basic things that could affect the safe operation of the vehicle, such as 
    • Tyres – Tread must be Min.1.5m
    • Brakes
    • Steering
    • Suspension
    • Body Rust or Damage
    • No Leaks – Oil etc
    • Road Test the Vehicle
    • Windscreen – No Cracks or Damage obscuring the Drivers vision
    • Lights – All Lights must be operational

        Safety Certificate (Roadworthy) must be displayed in a clear visual place, for example 
        • Motorcycles – Front Fork or Guards
        • Cars – Windscreen or Windows
        • Trailers – Draw Bar
        • Caravans - Windows
        You may get a $550 fine if you don’t display a safety certificate (roadworthy) on the vehicle from the moment you offer it for sale.
